ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I grew up in rural North Yorkshire in the pre-digital age when free time was spent roaming country lanes and sitting chatting on hay bales with friends in the fields until the sun went down. I have a degree in Environmental BioGeoscience and postgraduate qualifications in Structural Molecular Biology. Following a career in the Life Sciences I settled in rural Nottinghamshire in historic Sherwood Forest to bring up my young family. I have always felt a very real connection to the land and to my ancestors who walked here before me. The heritage and folklore of these islands is precious to me, and in an increasingly loud, fraught and confusing world I created WOODS & BOOKS as a celebration of the natural world, the rural and the old ways, and as an antidote to modern life.
