A delightful activity to accompany a winter walk with young children. With plenty of things to spot that are commonly found in the winter, this activity can be enjoyed whether you're out in the countryside or visiting your local park.
The first page is a checklist for little nature spotters to tick off the things they see as they go, the second page a sit down drawing activity perfect for keeping them occupied when it's time to stop for a snack and a sit down, plus a small discussion activity focussing on the senses to prompt a chat together about the walk, the sights and smells and sounds of winter and how it made them feel (you can write this bit for them if they're not ready to write yet). This encourages focus, helps build an appreciation of the changing seasons and reinforces positive memories of time spent together with you.
The third page is a writing practice activity with a mix of shorter and longer words to trace, and the fourth page a colouring in sheet.
You can mix and match the pages depending on the age of the child and what they're happy to try.
